1st Pillar: Responsible Sourcing

Good day everyone! We would like to share with you the 3 pillars that Nataoka follows. In this blog, we will talk about our first pillar: Responsible sourcing.

So, what is responsible sourcing you might ask? The fashion industry is famously known for its negative impact on the environment. There are far too many waste and carbon emissions due to overproduction and its non-biodegradable component. We, in Nataoka, try to be as sustainable and responsible as possible. One of the ways would be to practice responsible sourcing. Responsible sourcing is the practice of taking into account the effects that sourcing operations and suppliers have on society, economy, and the environment. We assume accountability for all aspects of the product life cycle, encompassing worker rights and carbon emissions.

How, you might ask, do we do responsible sourcing?

When dealing with suppliers, we commit in promoting and supporting ethical standards and social responsibility. For instance, we would anticipate that goods manufactured using responsibly sourced materials, and that they are natural resources. Manufacturers Nataoka worked with would have followed fair labour practices.

Transparency

We understand transparency is an essential here as we do want you to be aware of the garments you are purchasing from. With the blog post on our website, we hope to share our experiences and at the same time communicate or interact with you.

Please feel free to comment or let us know what topic you are interested in about Nataoka! We would be happy to share with you.

Have a lovely day!
